5 Great Finds at the Canadian Health Food Association Trade Show:

There was so much more than 5 great finds, but these are ones that stood out for me. I am absolutely impressed with the entrepreneurs out there trying to make a difference and offer us healthy, nutritious, and clean products.

Good Food for Good: Cooking sauces, ketchup, BBQ sauces, and more. One of the biggest challenges I know my clients face is eliminating sugar, well these products are all sugar free! Sweetened with just one date. But you know what the best part about this company is… for every purchase, they pay it forward. They are a Buy One, Feed One venture. By the way, I hear their Butter Chicken Sauce is to die for! For more information on their products visit: https://goodfoodforgood.ca

Hardbite Chips: Best potato chips I ever tried! I had the privilege of meeting one of the family members that is still part of this independent, Canadian company. He explained that the farm has been in the family for decades and they always were meticulous about healthy soil practices, even before organic became a “thing”. The chips are all natural, no preservatives or artificial flavours. So when you feel that chip craving coming on, choose a quality brand like Hardbite.

Queen B Kitchen: Another great example of a socially conscious company with a great product. Her cookies are made in small batches with the best ingredients, which are also certified Kosher and certified gluten-free. Each box has a list of ingredients anyone can understand, real foods! To top that off.. a portion of each sale supports ONEXONE First Nations School Breakfast Program which provides breakfast for children each school day in remote First Nations communities across Canada. How about that for a cookie! Check out their products here: Queen B Kitchen

Borderland: Bone Broth, is all the rage right now. But Whitney is doing something different… “Borderland Food Co provides a supportive, judgement free work environment for individuals who are recovering from addictions and we endeavour to hire individuals who fit this description wherever possible.” On top of this great mission statement, her product was delicious! Including chicken, beef, turkey and bison, she sources only the best quality bones sourced from ethical Canadian farms. Still in it’s start up phase, but make sure to put this brand on your list to watch out for in the near future. Learn more here: Borderland Food Co.

Sapadilla Soap Co.: OMG! I absolutely love their products. Great natural scents of lavender, rosemary, grapefruit, bergamot and more. I have tried the dish soap and hand soap so far, but I will be looking for more. Born in Vancouver, BC; Sapadilla Soap Co. makes nice little eco-cleaners and soaps that do nice little things for you, your home and the earth. Our smart formulations, with plant-based ingredients and only 100% pure essential oil blends, leave your home sparkly clean and smelling wonderfully fresh.
